The book is cool, kind of amazing how far from the “old days” our society has gone though…….other than being in combat and killing and being killed (which I NO MEANS mean to take away from these boys)…sounds like what we do every fall going Elk Hunting in the Rockies…….excepte we do bring a generator to run a water pump so we can have a shower…………………Awesome Book!!

ps This is NOT a promotion but check out the song “HORSE SOLDIERS” on the CD entiltled “HORSE SOLDIERS,HORSE SOLDIERS” by the CORB LUND BAND…..me thinks you will like it.

Jerimiah Johnson aka Henry Frapp aka Bill Tyler aka Wild Bill Hickock aka Tom Custer aka anybody else you can think off from the OLD DAYS………….

I am currently reading “Fiasco” by Thomas E. Ricks, and “Graveyard of Empires” by Seth G. Jones. Other favorites in this category are “Generation Kill” by Evan Wright and “One Bullet Away” by Nathaniel Fick. Planned reads include: “Not a good day to die, the untold story of Operation Anaconda” by Sean Naylor, “The Forever War” by Dexter Filkins, “How Wars are Won: the 13 rules of war” by Bevin Alexander, and “Destiny Disrupted: a history of the world through Islamic eyes” by Tamim Ansar. That ought to put me well into next year, considering I also have to read for school at some point. After that, I plan on delving into the bibliography of Horse Soldiers for further reading suggestions.
